The Children’s Advocate Diahann Gordon Harrison, says allegations that a four-year-old boy was beaten to death by a parent in St. Catherine, shows there’s still need to address violence in homes.

The child died at hospital yesterday hours after he was beaten allegedly with a piece of stick by his stepfather for “eating slowly”.

He has been identified as Nashawn Brown, who lived with his mother and step-father at Willowdene in Spanish Town, St. Catherine.

The police reportedly questioned both parents after which the step-father was taken into custody.

Mrs. Gordon Harrison says she’s saddened by the report.

She’s describing it as a very painful lesson for the family.
