Children’s Advocate, Diahann Gordon Harrison, says the process of launching the Child Helpline is well underway.
Mrs. Gordon Harrison says the objective is to launch the help line in May, in time for Child’s Month.
The help line will target people below 18 years of age and offers a space for children to freely express themselves.
The Child Helpline will be free of cost and will be operated by trained professionals who can efficiently offer counseling services to children.
Speaking with Nationwide News, Mrs Gordon Harrison says the response towards the idea of the helpline have been good.
Mrs Gordon Harrison says the process to recruiting individuals and creating promotional campaigns are currently underway.

The initiative is a joint effort between the Office of the Children’s Advocate, the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica and the United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF.
