Head of the St. James Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse, CISOCA, Detective Corporal Natasha Dixon, is encouraging parents and guardians to report known or suspected cases of child abuse to the police.
Detective Corporal Dixon is reminding the public that failure to report is also an offence.
Detective Corporal Dixon’s comments follow several reported cases of sexual offences against children in recent weeks.
She highlights that children under the age of 16 cannot consent to sex.
