And due to the severe weather affecting the island, the Ministry of Education has advised that schools will be closed for face-to-face classes on Friday.

The ministry, in its latest school bulletin, says classes will proceed online.

It says students without internet access or a device must be given assignment tasks in their work or text books to minimise disruption in their learning plan.

School administrators are also urged to initiate all communication channels within their institutions to ensure that parents or guardians can be informed promptly and can make the necessary arrangements for their child or ward.

The ministry says it will continue to monitor the weather reports and provide the necessary updates.
