Police Commissioner, George Quallo, has ordered an investigation into the arrest of a mother who’d reported the assault of her seven-year-old son to the Trelawny police.

In a statement on the weekend, Commissioner Quallo says he’s instructed the Inspectorate of the Constabulary to conduct an investigation into the incident.

The woman has been charged with disorderly conduct.

Commissioner Quallo has also instructed members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Chaplaincy Branch to make contact with the mother and the family and offer any assistance it can provide.

The Education Ministry has already launched an investigation into the alleged attack on the seven-year-old boy by his peers at the Clarks Town Primary School.
