Chief Executive Officer of the Companies Office of Jamaica and the Registrar of Companies, Judith Ramlogan, is admitting that the authorities did not foresee the recent problems which forced the temporary shutdown of the public search facility on the website of the National Security Interests in Personal Property, N-SIPP Registry.
The facility was taken offline after public outcry over the easy access to their personal details and financial information.
Ms. Ramlogan says it was never the intention of the authorities to expose the private business of Jamaicans.
Ms. Ramlogan says the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce has ordered that adequate security measures be implemented before the search facility is reinstated.
