Consumer confidence in Jamaica is at a record high!

Managing Director of Market Research Services, Don Anderson, made the disclosure at a media briefing at the Richmond Park Great House on Half Way Tree Road this morning.

Mr. Anderson outlined the findings contained in the latest Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, JCC, Business and Consumer Confidence survey for the just concluded July to September quarter of this year. He says there’s been a sharp increase in consumer confidence.

The Consumer confidence index has climbed from just over 159-points to 172.6. That’s the highest it has ever been since the survey was first conducted 17-years ago.

Mr. Anderson says business confidence has not soared as much as consumer confidence.
But, he says business confidence is still stable and high.

In the meantime, Mr. Anderson says there are seven different variables which contributed to the record-breaking jump in consumer confidence.
