The Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) has reduced Asafa Powell and Sherone Simpson’s 18-month bans to six.

They’ll commence as from June last year.

Agent for both athletes, Paul Doyle, says the ruling is a fair one.

Powell and Simpson are eligible to run immediately and Powell will be back on the track at the Luzern meet in Switzerland tomorrow.

Doyle says they’re happy to put this chapter of their careers behind them.

But CAS hasn’t just reduced the sentences of both athletes.

It also awarded them all costs associated with the hearing as well as additional monies in legal fees to be paid by JADCO.

Doyle says he welcomes the judgment.
