The country’s COVID-19 positivity rate has jumped to almost 30 % over the last 24 hours.

In the Ministry of Health’s latest update the positivity rate is 28.2%.

The positivity rate follows the confirmation of 276 new cases from the testing of 2-thousand 5-hundred and 34 samples in the last 24 hours.

This brings the total number of positive cases recorded since the start of the pandemic to 131,980.

58 of the new positive cases are from St. James, 41 are from Kingston and St. Andrew, while 34 are from St. Ann.

Meanwhile, there’s been four more deaths in the country arising from COVID-19 complications.

And, there were 65 recoveries reported in the update.

65 people are hospitalised with COVID, 9 are moderately ill, 2 patients are severely ill and 2 are also considered critical.

More than 80-per cent of those who are hospitalised are unvaccinated.
