Jamaica has recorded 118 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

That’s according to the Ministry of Health and Wellness’ latest update.

In the update, a positivity rate of 14.9% was reported.

Over 142-thousand cases have been recorded since the onset of the pandemic in the country.

The newest cases come from 8-hundred and 63 samples tested.

49 of the new cases are from Kingston and St. Andrew.

One new COVID-19 fatality was recorded.

The deceased is a 50-year-old male from Clarendon.

More than 3-thousand Jamaicans have died of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.

There were 104 recoveries reported in the update.

One hundred and 7 people are hospitalised with COVID.

33 are moderately ill, 6 are severely ill and 4 are critical.

79-per cent of those hospitalised are unvaccinated.
