Jamaica’s COVID-19 positivity rate stands at 24.1%.

That’s according to the latest update from the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

The positivity rate follows the confirmation of 1-hundred and 88 new cases.

The cases come from the 6-hundred and 62 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

The total number of positive cases in the island now stands at 1-hundred and 45 thousand 3 hundred and 45.

59 of the new cases are from Kingston and St. Andrew.

Five fatalities from the virus were recorded.

More than 3-thousand Jamaicans have died from COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.

There were 1-hundred and 3 recoveries reported in the update.

95 people are hospitalised with COVID.

24 are moderately ill, 4 are severely ill, and 1 case is considered critical.

91-per cent of those hospitalised are unvaccinated.
