State Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Senator Abka Fitz-Henley, says videos posted to social media on the weekend showing some people bashing the displaced Coopers Pen residents for their respectful and warm interaction with Prime Minister Andrew Holness during his visit last Friday, display the ugly face of partisan politics.

In content which went viral online over the weekend, prominent political activists and bloggers blasted the residents of Cooper’s Pen, calling them traitors.
They lamented that when Prime Minister Holness visited Cooper’s Pen, the people who were evicted by the private developer, failed to execute what they alluded to as an agenda.
They say rather than being hostile, the Coopers Pen residents, who they describe as treacherous, virtually rolled out the red carpet for the prime minister.
The political activists suggested that the residents had been programmed to give a hostile reception to the prime minister.
Minister Fitz-Henley says the comments underscore the sinister and unproductive approach to politics being taken by those whose daily mission is to seek to undermine the prime minister and his administration.
