The enhanced security measure is currently in effect in St James, Westmoreland and Hanover in Western Jamaica.

The police divisions of St Andrew South, Kingston Western, Kingston Central and Kingston East are also under SOE’s.

At news time Mr. Samuda was still on his feet making the government’s case to extend the measure by another three months.

If granted the SOEs will run until February of next year.

However, at least one Opposition Senator must vote alongside the government for the extension to be ratified.
