Democracy is in trouble in the People’s National Party!
That’s the declaration from four time MP for Central Manchester and former Health Minister John Junor.
He is taking issue with how the party plans to structure its annual conference this weekend.
The PNP announced yesterday that both the private and public sessions of conference will be held on Sunday at Jamaica College in St Andrew. At this session delegates will hear reports from officers of the party.
This will follow the internal elections where delegates will vote for four vice Presidents and President, on Saturday.
Mr. Junor says this structure should be reversed.
But PNP Councillor for the Papine Division Venesha Phillips says that is not necessary.
She says all party members have received a report into why the party lost the election from a recently formed Appraisal committee.
Mr. Junor is also taking issue with the quality of leadership of the PNP.
They were both speaking on Nationwide This Morning today.
