The Hope Gospel Church in Kingston says there has been an 83 per cent increase in offering and tithe collection this year, despite the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic.
Chairman of the Jamaica Umbrella Groups of Churches and Pastor of Hope Gospel Church, Reverend Peter Garth, says more persons are giving offerings digitally.
Speaking during yesterday’s edition of Nationwide@5, Reverend Garth said this year is the most profitable since the inception of Hope Gospel Church.
Reverend Garth says surplus funds have been donated to persons who have been hit hardest by the coronavirus pandemic.
Reverend Garth also highlighted that there has been an increase in the number of care packages that churches give to members of their congregation.
He says they have also received donations.
