Director of Public Prosecutions, Paula Llewellyn, is commending a Joint Select Committee of Parliament for accepting the recommendation to provide additional oversight for INDECOM.

The establishment of an INDECOM oversight body was first suggested by Mrs. Llewelyn and then supported by the National Security and Justice Ministers.

She notes that the proposal, supported by a majority of the members of the parliamentary committee, is for a ‘non-executive’ review body which wouldn’t interfere with the investigative and prosecutorial functions of INDECOM.

In the meantime, Miss Llewellyn says she wishes Mr. Williams the best as he begins a second 5-year term as the head of INDECOM.
