The West Indies tour party to Bangladesh will start departing the Caribbean today ahead of the January 20 start of the tour which includes three One Day Internationals and two Tests.

The 25 players will travel in two batches, one set of players will travel to New York then unto Dubai.

The second set which, departs tomorrow, will travel to London, en route to Dubai, where they will all gather before heading to Dhaka.

The team will quarantine for 8 days then play a one day warm-up game in nearby Savar before the start of the one day internationals on January 20.

A number of the first team regulars have opted out of the tour over health fears.

But sports medicine specialist, Dr. Akshai Mansingh, who went on a reconnaissance mission with security expert Paul Slowe at the end of December, says the players have a right the right to withdraw if they are not comfortable.

Dr. Mansingh is questioning the bubble fatigue.

Dr. Mansingh says based on what he saw when he was in Bangladesh, the players, who are making the trip, should have no fears.
