The taxi driver involved in Monday’s fatal motor vehicle crash in Bluefields, Westmoreland, is expected to return to court on Monday for the prosecution to respond to his bail application.

The driver, 47-year-old Delroy Rodney, was charged on Tuesday with five counts of death by dangerous driving.

Five people were killed after Rodney’s taxi, a grey Toyota Noah, collided with a truck on the Bluefields main road.

The deceased include a mother and her son, a mother and her daughter, and another woman.

All five people were passengers in the taxi.

However, it’s reported that Rodney fled the scene.

Mr. Rodney is being represented by attorneys Faith Salmon and Lambert Johnson.
