Tourism Minister Ed Bartlett has been awarded the World Tourism Minister of the Year by the Pacific Area Travel Writers Association, PATWA.
The award was presented during a ceremony hosted by the International Association for Tourism in Berlin Germany, last Thursday.
Minister Bartlett says the recognition is truly humbling. He says it shows that Jamaica has made a mark on the globe.
PATWA is a professional organisation of travel writers, founded in 1998, which supports sustainable growth and improvement of travel and tourism.
It’s an affiliate member of United Nation’s World Tourism Organisation, UNWTO
Minister Bartlett is to welcome stakeholders of the Award body when Jamaica hosts the annual Caribbean and North America Gala Ceremony in Montego Bay, St. James in September.
