Commonwealth Secretary-General, Dame Patricia Scotland KC is advising that current education models need to be looked at and adjusted to new realities.
Dame Patricia was one of the speakers at the Caribbean Examinations Council’s, CXC, second annual Ministerial Summit in Grenada today.
The summit was held under the theme “Flexible Learning, Credentialing and Assessment”.
Dame Patricia, who was speaking virtually from Sharm-el-Sheik, Egypt where she is attending the COP-27 climate summit, also noted that current modes of education are facing multiple threats.
The Commonwealth secretary-general also stated that the lack of proper flexible forms of learning being provided to students has had dire social consequences.
Dame Patricia noted that it is vital that the region act in implementing Flexible Learning and Assessment in order to ensure children do not fall into multi-dimensional poverty.
