Eight Jamaicans who’re to stand trial in the United States on lottery scam charges are to be extradited Wednesday.

The eight accused include a police constable.

Those to be extradited are: Constable Jason Jahalal, Alrick McLeod, O’Neil Brown, Xanu Morgan, Dario Palmer, Kazrae Grey, Kimberly Hudson, and Dahlia Hunter.

Justice Minister Delroy Chuck signed the extradition orders late last month.

Minister Chuck says his decision to promptly sign the extradition orders was intended to send a strong signal.

The Justice Ministry says the extradition orders were signed after a 15-day appeal period elapsed. He says none of the eight filed an appeal.

They’d previously fought their extradition in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court.
