Chairman of the Electoral Commission of Jamaica, ECJ, Dorothy Pine-McLarty, says the body will be carrying out a re-verification of the voters list this year.
Mrs. McLarty was speaking at a media briefing at the ECJ’s offices this morning.
The re-verification exercise will cost about two billion dollars.
Meanwhile, the ECJ Chairman says based on the commission’s own estimates the country could realize significant savings from holding Local Government and General Elections at the same time.
