The results of an environmental impact assessment on a section of the Southern Coastal Highway will be presented to the residents of St. Thomas in the next two weeks.

Member of Parliament for West St. Thomas, the JLP’s James Robertson, says the assessment on the road from Harbour View to Albion in St. Thomas will be presented on November 21 and 22.

The revelation comes in light of protests yesterday in St. Thomas which brought the parish to a standstill.

Residents took to the streets; blocking several major thoroughfares as they sought to drive home their demands for better roads.

The environmental impact assessment is one of the final steps before the work begins on the Southern Coastal Highway.

Work will be done on the main road from Harbour View in St. Andrew to Port Antonio in Portland.
