Reigning double Olympic champion, Elaine Thompson-Herah, will have a stern test when she opens her season in the 100-metres at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon, the fifth stop on the Diamond League circuit, on Saturday.

Thompson-Herah will line up against, 100-metres World champion, Sha’Carri Richardson, 2019 World Championships bronze medallist Marie-Josee Ta Lou-Smith of the Ivory Coast and World Indoor 60-metres champion,Julien Alfred of St. Lucia.

2019 200-metres gold medallist Dina Asher-Smith, and Brittany Brown of the USA will bring additional competition to the field.

In the men’s race, Jamaica will be represented by Ackeem Blake and Sandrey Davison.

Other Jamaicans down to compete include, the trio of Roshawn Clarke, Jaheel Hyde and Malik James-King in the men’s 400-metres hurdles.

World champion Danielle Williams in the women’s 100-metres hurdles and Olympic Champion Hansle Parchment will run in the 110-metres hurdles.

Meanwhile, Natoya Goule-Toppin will run in the women’s 800-metres, Adelle Tracey will face the starter in the women’s 1500-metres, Shanieka Ricketts and Kimberly Williams in the women’s triple jump and Rajindra Campbell in the men’s shot put.
