Retired House Speaker and PNP veteran Michael Peart, says he would not accept the resignation of PNP leader Portia Simpson Miller, if she was to tender it.

Mr. Peart stoked controversy this week, when he called for Mrs. Simpson Miller and the PNP’s frontline leadership to submit their resignations in the wake of the party’s election defeat on February 25.

But speaking on Nationwide This Morning, Mr. Peart explained that such a call is not unusual.

Mr. Peart says if Mrs. Simpson Miller were to offer her resignation as PNP President, he would not accept it.

And Mr. Peart says the absence of a clear message was one of the reasons the PNP lost the elections.

Speaking on Nationwide This Morning, Mr. Peart reflected that even his young son could understand the JLP’s message.
