Well-known corporate area music producer and sound system operator, Ernest Braithwaite, remains in hospital this afternoon nursing gunshot wounds.

Mr. Braithwaite is more popularly known as Father Romie. He was shot and injured by gunmen on Sunday near his music studio in Havendale, St. Andrew.

An attempt was reportedly made by robbers to take the music producers gold chain from him. Mr. Braithwaite eluded his attackers but was shot in the upper region of his body. He’s in stable condition.

Braithwaite is the owner of Exodus Nuclear sound system. He’s considered to be influential in some sections of Red Hills and Mannings Hill roads in St. Andrew. And, over the years has been immortalized in songs by dancehall deejays, including – Baby Cham and Vybz Kartel.
