Tonight, starting at 9 is the first of three scheduled General Elections debates.

It has been dubbed the social issues debate and will see a three-member from the governing JLP facing off against a three-member team from the Opposition PNP.

The Opposition PNP says despite changes to its debate team, it will be fielding a strong and experienced team tonight.

PNP Candidate for Central Manchester, Peter Bunting and the PNP’s Candidate for West Rural St Andrew, Krystal Tomlinson, were initially listed as members of the Opposition three person team.

But, they are now in qurantine awaiting the results of COVID-19 tests.

The PNP says it will now be represented by Lisa Hanna, Dr Dayton Campbell and Raymond Pryce.

The Jamaica Labour Party, JLP, team is unchanged and consists of Dr. Christopher Tufton, Kamina Johnson-Smith and Floyd Green.

PNP Candidate for St. Catherine East Central and member of the party’s debate team, Raymond Pryce, says Mr. Bunting and Ms Tomlinson have passed on their notes and strategies to the new members of the team.

In a release today, the PNP said Ms Hanna is to deliver the opening statement on behalf of its debate team and Mr Pryce is to make the closing statement.

Meanwhile, General Secretary of the JLP, Dr. Horace Chang, says the party’s debate team will be victorious in tonight’s debate.

He says the JLP isn’t concerned about who are the members of the PNP debate team.
