The over 14,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines, under the global COVAX facility, have just arrived in the island.
The plane carrying the vaccines landed at Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston a short time ago.
Health and Wellness Minister, Dr. Christopher Tufton and other officials are at the moment on location overseeing the process.

He spoke with Nationwide News minutes after the plane landed.
Today’s more than 14,000 doses are the first commercially acquired in the Caribbean.
This morning, Minister Tufton told Nationwide News that all other vaccines that’s been acquired by Caribbean countries, have been gifted by other nations.
