Five men, including a St. Catherine wanted man, have been taken into custody following the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition at Pear Tree Bottom, Runaway Bay, St. Ann on Tuesday.
Reports from the St. Ann’s Bay Police are, about 5:35 yesterday morning, a team of officers conducted a targeted operation in the area where several premises were searched.
Twenty-three-year-old Kevin Fletcher, otherwise called ‘Tippy’, of Linstead, St. Catherine, was subsequently found in possession of a 9-milli-metre pistol with a magazine containing three rounds.
Fletcher has been featured on the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Wanted Wednesday campaign.
Four other suspects were taken into custody; however, their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
