At least 20 people, including four children, have been left homeless after fire gutted a six-bedroom dwelling on West Street, downtown Kingston, Friday morning.

Public Relations Officer at the Jamaica Fire Brigade, Emilio Ebanks, says six units were deployed to battle the blaze.

Mr Ebanks says the immediate cause of the fire is unknown.
