The hunt is on for four prisoners who escaped from a police lockup in Falmouth Trelawny.

Two of the prisoners were being held on charges of murder.

Police reports say sometime after 10 last night a Detective Sergeant received a telephone call stating that four men resembling prisoners were seen running along Cornwwall Street, behind the Falmouth Police Station.

Contact was reportedly made with the cell staff who made checks and discovered that four of five prisoners from a cell had escaped. It’s believed that the men escaped by cutting metal joining irons of a vent to the wall, then removing the vent.

The escapees include 24-year-old Mario Morrison otherwise called Speshy of Bamboo District, Hanover. Morrison was held on a charge of murder and is to return to court on April 18. He was in custody for the murder of Montego Bay school girl Shaneike Gray whose body was found in St James last year.

Also on the run is 31-year-old Oneil Demetrius also known as Socket of Lowe River, Wait-A-Bit, Trelawny. Demetrius is also charged with murder and is to return to court on May 31.

Twenty-two-year-old Travaun Lawson otherwise called Tall Man of Rose Mount, St. James the other escapee is charged with shooting with intent and was scheduled to appear in court tomorrow, Friday, April 6.

Adrian Stewart 39, is the other escapee being sought by the police. Stewart is of Dumfries, St. James and at the time he escaped was on a charge of assault occasioning bodily harm and simple larceny. He was to appear in court on May 2.
