Jamaica Labour Party, JLP, young professional affiliate, Generation 2000, G2K, is calling for a revision of staff orders for civil servants.

G2K President, Ryan Strachan, says civil servants should be free to express their political affiliation.

Staff Order for persons working in the public sector, stipulate strident guidelines for how persons express political views.

Persons are not permitted to engage in any partisan political activity in any election.

But, Mr. Strachan says civil servants should be given political freedom.

Mr. Strachan says heated political conversations are natural.

He added that people can be mature in the work place.

Meanwhile, the G2K President says things have changed.

He says public sector companies should follow suit.
