Tourism Minister, Edmund Bartlett, says the government is seeking to position the country as a supplies hub for regional industry.
Minister Bartlett says a task force has been established to explore the possibility through the utilization of Jamaica’s special economic zones.
The Minister was speaking during his Sectoral Presentation in the House of Representatives earlier this week.
He says it’s time to view tourism as an exporting industry.
Meanwhile the Minister says the country is working to improve labour standards through greater skills certification in the industry.
