Prime Minister Andrew Holness says organised criminal activity represents a serious threat to the state.

He likens it to terrorism.

Mr. Holness says crime is now an undeniable national crisis, warranting the use of States of Public Emergency.

The Prime Minister says the work of the security forces currently saves a minimum of three hundred lives annually.
