Chris Gayle has come out in support of Darren Sammy’s criticism of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB).
In a post on the popular social media site, Instagram, Gayle said he’s backing his captain 100 per cent and insisted that a shakeup is needed at both the WICB as well as the West Indies Players Association (WIPA).
According to Gayle, WIPA had done a poor job of representing the players.
He also indicated that this might be the last time he’s allowed to represent the West Indies for 2016
The outspoken 36-year-old West Indies opening batsman said, “Thank God for the prize money because the match fee is a joke what wipa agreed to… so i’m donating my match fees to charity!”
Meanwhile, Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, says Sammy did the right thing when he reminded the world that all is not well with West Indies cricket
Sammy lamented a lack of support from the WICB during a post-match interview after the West Indies’ win in the ICC World T20 Final.
