Opposition Leader and MP for St. Andrew Southern, Mark Golding, is calling for stronger policing measures in the community of Trench Town in the constituency.

The community has seen an outbreak of violence in recent weeks.

The police have arrested five suspects, while one was shot and killed during an operation by the security forces last week.

The operation is said to be linked to the killing of several persons and the injuring of others in the community.

Mr. Golding says he’s in support of effective policing and not a Zones Of Special Operations, ZOSO, at this time.

Mr. Golding says the violence has so far claimed four lives occurring less than one hundred meters away from each other.

He also noted that based on the community’s infrastructure, there’s a need for more social investment.
