Opposition leader, Mark Golding, says in most other countries the continued non-certification of the statutory declaration of the prime minister would disqualify him from office.
Golding made the claim while addressing party supporters at a rally in South St. James on Wednesday.
The prime minister’s statutory declarations were last certified by the Integrity Commission in 2022.
The Integrity Commission Act requires that the declarations of both the prime minister and the opposition leader be certified and published in the national gazette.
Golding took the prime minister to task for his legal filings against the anti-corruption body.

It’s to be noted that there’s been no public communication from the Integrity Commission that the prime minister or any other named individual is under investigation for illicit enrichment.
