Golding wants gov’t to declare position on abolishing jury trials

Opposition Leader Mark Golding, wants the Holness administration to declare its position on whether jury trials should be abolished before sending the matter to a joint select committee.

In response, the Justice Minister indicated the government has taken no final position on whether jury trials should be abolished.

But, MP for East Portland, Isat Buchanan, cautioned the administration against proceeding to abolish jury trials without the widest consultation.
