Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton says the government of Jamaica will explore its bilateral relations with countries like India and Cuba, to source COVID 19 vaccines. 

He made the announcement while addressing the House of Representatives today. 

He says the government will ensure the approved vaccines have surpassed rigorous measures.

Dr. Tufton also addressed the concerns about limited COVID testing facilities and resources.

In the meantime, Opposition Spokesman on Health Dr. Morais Guy, is also urging the government to ensure the vaccines are accessed free of cost by all Jamaicans. 

He also wants to know if provisions will be made in the Budget.

He’s also urging the government to include asthmatics in the groups scheduled to receive the first doses of vaccines, noting they are more susceptible to COVID-19.
