Minister of Gender, Entertainment, Culture and Sports, Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange says the government has secured some $50 million in grant funding for members of the entertainment sector hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

She says the Finance Minister had approved $40 million of that sum through a support fund for members of the entertainment sector.

But, Minister Grange says they were unable to access the funds due to technical glitches with the electronic system.

She says the government will make an announcement soon about the re-opening of the entertainment sector.

But, Minister Grange noted that in the meantime, the government is ramping up efforts to secure facilities where entertainment events can be staged with strict adherence to the protocols.
