The Government will invest 31-billion dollars into hard infrastructure in an effort to make the country climate resilient.
The disclosure was made yesterday by Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, Matthew Samuda.
He was speaking at a Tourism Ministerial Summit at the Montego Bay Convention Centre, in Rose Hall, St. James.
Minister Samuda says over the last 60 years, the natural environment has been mismanaged.
He says the Government is working to protect 30 per cent of its landmass by 2025.
Minister Samuda pointed out that immediate action will be taken to develop climate resilience.
