The Government says a multi-agency situation room will be established to improve communication with the public in response to daily traffic pile ups being experienced by the motoring public.

The traffic congestion is largely due to several major expansion works projects being undertaken all at once.

This, has been compounded by the closure of the major Three Miles intersection at Hagley Park and Spanish Town Road in St Andrew that sees approximately 60-thousand vehicles on a daily basis.

Minister without portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister, Daryl Vaz, made the disclosure about the establishment of the situation room during a post cabinet media briefing today.

In the meantime the Jamaica Constabulary Force is advising motorists to proceed with caution when traversing some roadways in the Corporate Area.

In a statement this afternoon, the Constabulary says the following roadways are flooded due to heavy rainfall:

Hagley Park Road, Sections of Constant Spring Road, Bayfarm Road and Waltham Park Road.

It says motorists should use alternative routes if necessary.
