The government has signed a multimillion-dollar contract with UK Export Finance to replace or upgrade 55 bridges across Jamaica.
The contract was signed Thursday evening during a ceremony at the British High Commission’s residence on Trafalgar Road in Kingston.
The project will see Acrow Bridge, a global leader in bridge infrastructure, supplying materials for the replacement bridges.
It was also disclosed that Lagan, a UK-based company specializing in civil engineering, will handle the installation of the bridges in collaboration with the National Works Agency.
Jamaica has over 800 bridges.
