Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton says the government will shortly be outsourcing aspects of the country’s vaccination programme to private companies.

There have been repeated calls for private facilities to be allowed to administer vaccines in order to support the government’s efforts.

Dr. Tufton says Cabinet has given approval for a call for proposals.

Dr. Tufton says the private companies bidding for the vaccination contracts will have to meet certain requirements in order to be considered.

The Health Minister is assuring the public that the vaccines will remain free under the new system.
