The President and CEO of the Jamaica Public Service Company, JPS, Kelly Tomblin, says the government owes a significant sum for streetlight bills.

But Ms. Tomblin says it’s inappropriate to discuss the details of the debt at this time.

Ms. Tomblin says the government’s plan to begin using LED bulbs in streetlights, may be delayed.

She says it’s difficult to justify the investment in the more expensive LED bulbs, because it would take longer to see the financial benefit.
