Transport Minister, Robert Montague, says the government is re-examining the country’s rail service with the aim of introducing a school train service on a phased basis.

Using St. Catherine as an example, Minister Montague says students from Spanish Town often find it difficult to access public transportation when schools dismiss in the mid-afternoon.

He says a railway service could prove effective in transporting school children in the parish.

Minister Montague says the profitability of a railway service would be in the long term benefits afforded to students.
