Finance Minister, Audley Shaw is to table in the House of Representatives today the estimates of expenditure for the 2018/2019 fiscal year.

Minister Shaw is expected to table the budget after the ceremonial opening of Parliament is concluded.

The ceremonial opening is to begin at 10:30 this morning.

Parliament was prorogued earlier this week – bringing to a close to the 2017/18 parliamentary year.

Governor General, Sir Patrick Allen is expected to highlight the morning session of the proceedings.

Sir Patrick is to deliver the Throne Speech – where he’ll outline the Government’s legislative agenda for the parliamentary year.

Following Sir Patrick’s presentation – Minister Shaw is to table the estimates when the House of Representatives re-convenes at 2:00 in the afternoon.

Last year, Minister Shaw tabled a $7150-billion budget.

This was later increased to $805-billion in the supplementary budget tabled in December.

A few weeks ago – the Finance Minister said no new taxes will be implemented to help fund this year’s budget.
