Guyanese News Reporter, Neil Marks, says the country is still in shock following a massive blaze at a Secondary school, which claimed the lives of 19 children.

The first victim of the horrific Mahdia Secondary School dorm fire was laid to rest on Wednesday.

Sunday’s deadly fire is believed to have been set by another student.

The police say the student reportedly set fire to the dormitory because her mobile phone was confiscated.

Marks says the authorities have been exploring safety measures in light of the tragedy.
