Over 1,200 permanent jobs will be created with the construction of a new hotel — to be called Hard Rock Hotel — in Rose Hall, Montego Bay.

The announcement was made by Minister without portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, Daryl Vaz.

The project is being carried out by Mexican developer, RCB Resorts.

Minister Vaz was making his contribution to Sectoral Debate in the House of Representatives this afternoon.

He says discussions with the developers could see the project starting this year.

It’s to be completed in the 2018/19 financial year.

Minister Vaz says the project languished for three years under the previous administration.
