Health and Wellness Minister, Dr. Christopher Tufton, says the mental toll of the Covid-19 pandemic on the nation’s children is an extreme cause for concern.
A local study by the Northern Caribbean University recently reported an increase in persons suffering from psychological issues since the start of the pandemic.
Dr. Tufton says while several resources are available, more can be done to raise awareness on mental health.
Dr. Tufton added that there are programs in place for mentally ill persons who reside on the streets.
He noted that many of them are homeless not by choice.
